On January 31, 2024, pema received an inquiry from Putzmeister, a leading manufacturer of construction equipment, regarding the development of a revolutionary 3D printer for concrete. The task was to supply tailor-made cable harnesses for this technologically demanding project.
The challenge lay in the technical complexity of the requirements, in particular in the integration of a highly specialized cable harness, which was previously only available as a preliminary design base. pema took on the task of precisely designing, manufacturing and integrating this cable harness into the existing system architecture.
Through close cooperation with Putzmeister and an on-site analysis at the Aichtal site, the requirements were coordinated directly with Putzmeister's development engineers. This interdisciplinary approach enabled a deep understanding of the 3D printer's system architecture and led to a tailor-made solution.
The development of a modular, pluggable cable system that meets the highest environmental requirements was particularly challenging.
In close cooperation with Putzmeister, pema developed the cable harness and presented optimized solutions. Flexibility in implementation enabled the rapid integration of short-term change requirements.
Each cable assembly produced underwent 100% testing using a modular testing system to ensure maximum reliability and functionality. pema's extensive component warehouse with over 28,000 parts enabled short delivery times and high adaptability.
pema's efficient response and technical expertise have made a significant contribution to the progress of the Putzmeister project and further strengthened the long-standing partnership. pema has been supplying Putzmeister since the 1980s and is now the main supplier to many locations worldwide.
